Pony Pattern WIP #1 by Inky-Pinkie Pony Pattern WIP #1 by Inky-Pinkie
Here you can see the not-so beautiful attempts of my first pony, and I don't know if you can tell but it's going to be .... *drum roll* Derpy! (Yay)

It's my second attempt at a pony, the first attempt is just too horrifying to upload, and it is made from a pattern that I created from scratch. This is just a test, so I know it doesn't look so hot at the moment, but I'm going to edit my pattern again and create :iconpaleblank: OC's pony Dull Day which I'll be giving to PaleBlank as a gift. I've already bought the fabric to make him, and I'm super excited to see what the finished pattern will turn out like. This Derpy will be given to an IRL friend as a gift as she had to put up with me sewing in our shared bedroom on holiday at early hours of the morning. *sheepish grin*

~My big dream is to start offering commissions for Pony plushies and Pokemanz, but I've got a long way to go, so onward to finishing this plushie!!~

HUGE huge thanks to :iconadamlhumphreys: who gave me some amazing advice and helped make this pattern possible. Please go and check out their gallery to see some amazing plushies!

Plushie/Pattern (C) Inky-Pinkie (me) Please do not upload this anywhere else or claim it as your own, thank you!

Oki-doki! So, what about the head is troubling you? The stuffing part or the sewing part?

I've always struggled with heads, but I've found the easiest way to do them is to make sure the stuffing is perfect, I spend longer stuffing the head than actually sewing it! xD The best thing to do is to make sure you stuff the nose first, otherwise the stuffing will move and you end up with an empty and squishy nose that has no shape. Stuff it so much that it feels solid, then start to stuff the cheeks and sides of the face and finally stuff the back of the head.

Like with the pattern I have, there barely seems to be a nose. So when I stuff, I end up with a circle with a little lump xD

Right, what you can do is make the nose a lot longer and a lot more sticky-out than you think you should. This means when you stuff your plush there will be a definite nose which is nice and shapely.

Such a lovely pattern! I wish I could create such a nice plush. I don't even know how well I'd make anything though, I've never tried it before. =P

Thank you so much! And I'm sure you could with a little hard work and patience~

And every plush maker started somewhere, you should give it a go! And remember, it doesn't hurt to ask people advice if you need help or are unsure on how to do things, I know some plush makers who would be happy to help! ^-^

Great start so far! Really like the back legs, looks really defined which is great. Good job on the muzzle too, that's the part I've been having problems with myself.

Thank you so much! And yup, I'm a little too pleased with the back legs myself. But don't get me started on the muzzle, it is such a pain to stuff, the stuffing keeps migrating elsewhere in the head and leaving the nose empty, it really is seriously infuriating! It's only my second attempt, so I can't call myself an expert, but if you need any tips on the muzzle I'll be happy to help.

Thank you so much! Your pattern is a great inspiration to many, and allows sewers who are inexperienced with sewing or are unable to picture a pattern a way to sew the things they love. So I'm really chuffed and pleased that you like my work~
